500 Miles

Old Timey Tuesdays! Welcome to our folk lair. Today, Betsy and Alex sing “500 Miles” by Hedy West. A classic from the 60’s folk revival, Betsy learned it from her parents Peter, Paul, and Mary records. It is yet another train song (sometimes called ”The Railroader’s Lament”), but rather than sharing the driving feel of many train tunes, this is an emotional ballad that is a great argument for keeping it simple.
