Railroad Bill/Freight Train

Old Timey Tuesdays! This week, I'm giving you not one but TWO train songs in a little mashup I threw together. If you've seen the show, you know I'm passionate about train songs. Even wrote one o' my own. I grew up near the tracks, and my Gramps worked on the B&O, so there's just something about those old tunes that zings my heartstrings. If you'd like to check out all the train love, I put together a collection right here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist…. These two particular tunes have quite a bit in common when it comes to melody. "Railroad Bill" is about a real train bandit from the turn of the twentieth century. "Freight Train" was written by Elizabeth Cotten, one o' the greats, who played a right-handed guitar with her left hand!

If you have a favorite train song, share in the comments. We can nerd out together.
