It Is Well With My Soul/ Peace Like a River

Old Timey Tuesdays! Old hymns, backyards, string lights, good friends, muted palettes...these are a few of our favorite things. This week we are joined by dear friend of the show and skilled soprano, Stephanie Stockstill, who had a grand idea. She suggested we combine “It Is Well With My Soul” and “Peace Like a River.” Stephanie grew up singing the former, and Betsy grew up singing the latter (with hand gestures, although in this case, her hands are otherwise occupied). While these two pieces don’t share much melodically, they both contain that lovely phrase, “Peace Like a River,” a classic example of a “floating lyric” which we used to bridge the styles and tunes.
