Old Timey Tuesdays! Little Liza Jane
It's a very special Old Timey Tuesday! This week, we gathered with some of the artists and activists behind Fixed Abode II to bring you a good ol' singalong song, "Little Liza Jane." Written in the New Orleans in the early 1900's, it's a standard for New Orleans brass bands. It's also found a home in jazz, folk and bluegrass. There are dozens upon dozens of verses. We picked a few of our favorites AND we decided to write one of our own. Sing with us! AND join us on February 17th, as we partner with World Relief to bring you Fixed Abode II: a benefit for Chicago refugees. The brainchild of our very own Tyler Thompson, this show has musicians, poets, storytellers, standups, artists and so much more. We'll be performing this very tune, so we hope you sing with us as we raise money to help refugees in our city.
