Old Timey Tuesday: Keep on the Sunny Side

Old Timey Tuesday! Breakin' our "No O Brother" rule with this one. Here's a little dose of positivity from T Ty and B with "Keep On the Sunny Side," a country gospel tune written in 1899 by Ada Blenkhorn with music by J. Howard Entwisle. It was popularized by the Carter Family in the 20's.

Fixed Abode is this week! Join us Friday night for an evening of stories, songs, standup, art and poetry exploring the themes of displacement, long journeys, new beginnings and the endless search for a place to call home. All Proceeds Benefit World Relief Chicago, an organization that cares for refugee and immigrant families through resettlement, employment, legal services, youth and education initiatives. Featuring She's Folks (Tyler Thompson, Alex Newkirk, Ted Kitterman, Tyler Core, and Khaki Pixley), Wild Earp & the Hoofbeats, Trevor Reusch, Christina Hall and Diego Colón, Quentin Rybrandt, Hillary Marren, Daniel Fager, Hannah Veldt, a silent art auction, and more! Tickets are only $25 and include open bar. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fixed-abode-ii-a-variety-show-…

This event is one small way for people in our city to show compassion and love toward those of different backgrounds and faiths who have come to Chicago looking to begin a new life. We're all in this together.
